Arts South: a new take on curation.

Arts South is a platform for ideas and culture. Our program encompasses lifestyle, art, unmistakable taste for design and beyond, engaging a global community of artists and curious creatives.

Arts South’s program is dedicated to original, site-specific works, commissioned and curated in a collaborative process. Our ambition is to present a new kind of experiential exhibitions that transcends our expectations of traditional art galleries. Through a creative edit of craft, furniture, music, art and books, exclusive exhibitions and events, Arts South Hong Kong invites visitors to explore an innovative take on the art experience, one that brings local and international emerging talents together and provide space for creative growth. Arts South first outpost in Hong Kong is reframe Ateliers in Wong Chuk Hang, a creative space at the heart of Hong Hong art gallery district.

  • Arts South: The origins

The Full Circle Art Africa program in 2017 was a significant event that showcased the richness and diversity of African contemporary art and culture in Hong Kong. It was a unique initiative that aimed to bridge the gap between African and Asian cultures, highlighting the similarities and fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of African arts and culture in Asia.

The program was not just about exhibiting art; it was a comprehensive cultural exchange that included talks, performances, fashion, retail, and cultural exchange. It provided a platform for African artists to share their work and ideas with a broader audience, challenging stereotypes and encouraging a dialogue about identity and values in the contemporary world.

Arts South, as a platform, continues this legacy by focusing on original, site-specific works and curating exhibitions that transcend the traditional art gallery experience. It seeks to engage a global community of artists and creatives, providing a space for creative growth and collaboration between local and international emerging talents.

The concept of "soft power" through arts is evident in both Full Circle Art Africa and Arts South. It demonstrates how art can be a powerful tool for cultural diplomacy, connecting people across different backgrounds, and fostering a sense of unity through shared experiences and conversations. By commissioning and producing artistic projects that address diversity issues, environmental challenges, education, and culture, these initiatives aim to preserve and promote the arts and culture of Africa and its diaspora, inspiring new perspectives and fostering a fresh voice for African culture on the global stage.
